The Part-Time Head Women's Volleyball Coach is responsible for organizing and directing all aspects of the women's volleyball program at Macomb Community College. Responsibilities include coaching, recruiting, academic monitoring, program administration, and fostering a positive student-athlete experience. The position supports the mission, values, and policies of Macomb Community College and the NJCAA.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Coaching & Player Development
Plan, organize, and implement all practice sessions and team training.
Develop and execute game strategies, scouting reports, and match preparation.
Promote sportsmanship, discipline, and team culture consistent with MCC Athletics.
Recruiting
Recruit qualified student-athletes in compliance with NJCAA and institutional guidelines.
Build relationships with high school and club coaches throughout Michigan and the region.
Manage recruiting records and communication.
Program Administration
Coordinate match schedules, travel arrangements, and logistics.
Manage team equipment, uniforms, and facility requests.
Work with MCC Athletics Communications for statistics, reporting, and media coverage.
Maintain compliance with MCC, MCCAA, and NJCAA rules.
Student-Athlete Academic Support
Monitor academic progress and eligibility of student-athletes.
Collaborate with the Student-Athlete Success Navigator to support academic retention and success.
Leadership & Culture
Provide mentorship, accountability, and support for student-athletes.
Uphold MCC institutional values and departmental policies.
Represent the volleyball program at campus events and community activities.
Bachelor's or Associate's degree in a related field (e.g., Education, Sports Management, Exercise Science).
