JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for the administration and development of the Bowling team, including student recruitment to the team, budget management, MCCAA and NJCAA competition, fund-raising, and promotional visibility of the College.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepare team for competition, to include practices, game preparation and recruitment of student-athletes.
Responsible for budgetary oversight, through Director of Athletics, to comply with Business Office requirements for documentation and control, as well as sound accounting practices.
Represent SC4 in a professional/positive manner on campus, in community and at College events and team competitions.
Responsible for behavior and well-being of student-athletes at all team activities to maintain a positive College image.
Must have knowledge of and maintain compliance with NJCAA by-laws and eligibility rules.
Act as promotional agent for the team to get local, state and national recognition.
Work with Director of Athletics to track academic progress and retention of student-athletes.
Schedule games and practice facilities through cooperation with other sports coaches and Director of Athletics.
Provide end of season report, to include statistics and awards through NJCAA and MCCAA websites.
Attend meetings as required by the Director of Athletics and/or Senior Vice President.
Coordinate and direct athletic camps. Includes, but not limited to, coordination of camp, compliance with Michigan’s Sports Concussion Law, and oversight of game workers and/or volunteers.
Perform other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Under the general supervision of the Director of Athletics.
SUPERVISION GIVEN: Provides general supervision to the College Athletes.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Associate’s degree in a related field and/or extensive successful coaching experience at high school varsity level or higher required. Applicant must have experience with budget oversight, student activities and a willingness to work with students in a service capacity required; Bachelor's degree preferred. Must possess strong oral and written communication and motivational skills and be able to work as a team member with the College community, to include students, staff, faculty, administration and other Athletic Teams on campus.
