Job DescriptionThis position is a part-time, nine-credit activity assignment. It provides direction and development of the Yellowjackets Women's Soccer program. Maintain a focus on education and academic achievements: aid student athletes in achieving a high level of skill, grow their appreciation for the values of discipline and sportsmanship, and increase their level of self-esteem. RCTC is a Division III member of the NJCAA and a member of the Minnesota College Athletic Conference. Performance appraisals will be conducted in accordance with policy provisions.Responsibilities include: (but are not limited to)planningbudgetingorganizingrecruitingfund-raisingstudent retentionNJCAA competition and promotional visibility of the organization.OverviewRecruit quality student athletes to maintain a fully enrolled and competitive NJCAA programClear understanding and adherence to NJCAA, MCAC and RCTC policies, rules and regulationsDirect all phases of the programDevelop, submit and monitor budget for the seasonCoordinate, conduct and evaluate college tryouts, when appropriate, visit high schools, home visits and meet with incoming athletesOrganize, schedule, coach and supervise all practices and games/matches/tournamentsSchedule travel and supervise team travelCreate atmosphere that promotes good citizenship and sportsmanshipKeep up in all current trends and styles by attending clinics and MCAC Coaches meetings related to assigned sport, as well as be able to relate information to student athletesShow technique, offer drills to practice that technique and evaluate its effectivenessMaintain player statistics and program historic recordsCollaborate with the RCTC Equipment Manager to inventory, maintain, and be accountable for all program equipment, uniforms, and suppliesCollaborative with Sports Facility Director to maintain the cleanliness of practice rooms, locker rooms, and other facilities or files used by the program athletesPromote season to local and national media through press releases and other methods of public relations by working collaboratively with RCTC MarketingCommitment to student retentionCommitment to support and monitor student athlete academic achievements and progressParticipate in community fund-raising efforts and public relationsThe Head Coach will be professional, reliable and punctualAssist in hiring and evaluation of assistant coachesAbility to relate to various constituent groups and work cooperatively and effectively in a highly collaborative and culturally diverse environment and campus communityAbility to handle multiple tasks, establish priorities, work under pressure and meet deadlinesUnderstanding of and commitment to further the College?s missionSupervise work student studentsRequired QualificationsBachelor?s DegreeAt least 2 years soccer coaching experiencePreferred QualificationMaster?s degree in related fieldCollegiate coaching experienceApplication ProcedureApplications will ONLY be accepted through the online application process.No paper applications will be considered. Rochester Community and Technical College was founded in 1915 on a motion by Dr. Charles Mayo to the Rochester School Board. Rochester is Minnesota's oldest - and one of the nation's oldest - original community colleges. The 2005-2006 academic year marked RCTC's 90th anniversary. The college serves approximately 7,500 students in credit-based enrollments and 3,000 in noncredit courses.
