Classification Summary: Incumbents plan and direct the activities of an athletic team. Responsibilities may include planning and implementing practice sessions; recruiting student athletes; purchasing equipment and supplies; coordinating practices and games; monitoring the academic progress of athletes; assisting with managing a budget; and promoting assigned programs.
Minimum Education and/or Training and Experience: Minimum of bachelors degree in a related field and one year of related eSports experience involving team-based multiplayer online video games.
Preferred Education and/or Training and Experience: Coaching or teaching experience preferred

Instruct student athletes on specific sporting skills on an individual and/or team basis, which includes: determining most appropriate teaching method; providing athletes with adequate information on workouts, cross training, collegiate regulation compliance issues, and other applicable items; facilitating drills; reviewing videos; evaluating performance; and performing other related activities. Provide guidance and leadership to other coaching staff. (C4)
Recruit student athletes and determine the academic probability of a students success by evaluating academic credentials, performance, and personality; offer stipends to student athletes when probability of success meets specified criteria. Recommend to 4-year college athletic coaches all Jefferson College student-athletes wishing to transfer. Emphasis should be placed on securing athletic scholarships for athletes wanting to continue their pursuit of an athletic and academic career (C4)
Develop students, both academically and athletically, by monitoring academic results and athletic achievements. Work with the Student-Athlete Success Coordinator to assure eligibility status and appropriate academic progress of the student-athlete. Specific attention should be given to encouraging an athlete toward completion of graduation requirements. (C4)
Under the direction of the Director of Athletics and the Executive Director of the Jefferson College Foundation, coordinate all external/internal revenue generating initiatives/events to enhance the sports operating budget. In addition, monitor and abide by a fiscally responsible yearly department budget (C4)
Coordinate game/competition schedules, and practices by ensuring they are scheduled within their specific seasons timeframe. Supervise team activities. This includes, but is not limited to, attendance at home contests of the Colleges other sports programs and campus and community events. Prepare sporting equipment for practices and games by ensuring equipment is properly handled and maintained at all times. (B2)
Monitor student athlete apartments, study halls, and academic performance; ensure student athlete compliance with set behavioral and eligibility requirements. (B2)
Conduct him/herself in a professional manner and be a positive role model for the student-athletes with whom they interact on a daily basis. (A1)
Perform other related duties of a comparable level/type as assigned.
Position Duties: 1. Actively recruit throughout the year to build a competitive team roster primarily comprised of well qualified student athletes from the local high school community. 2. Create and implement promotional, engagement, and entertainment activities to enhance fan experience at home games, thereby increasing attendance and raising the level of fan support from the college and local community.
