St. Andrew's Episcopal School seeks a visionary and dynamic Girls Lacrosse Program Director for the 2023-2024 school year. The position offers a tremendous opportunity to build on a program that has strong participation numbers at a leading independent school in one of our nation’s fastest growing cities. The successful candidate will work under the direct supervision of our Athletic Director and will work closely with the entire Athletics’ team, as well as the Head of Upper School, to deliver a high quality Girls Lacrosse experience for players and coaches.
In addition to serving as the Girls Lacrosse Program Director, the successful candidate will serve as the Head Varsity Coach, providing leadership, supervision, and organization for the entire Girls Lacrosse program, including the Junior Varsity and 5th-8th grade levels.
This opportunity can be structured as flexible to be a part-time or a full-time position, depending on the successful candidate’s background and interest as well as teaching opportunities that may be available at St Andrew’s. The most competitive candidates will be able to contribute significantly to other aspects of school life, as a classroom teacher, administrator, or staff member.
We will give preference to candidates with previous Head Coaching experience or significant leadership experience at a quality program. The next Girls Lacrosse Program Director must exemplify the highest standards of professionalism, leadership, and sportsmanship. Above all, the Girls Lacrosse Program Director should love working with adolescent athletes, recognize the power and importance of mentorship, lead by example, and support young women in the development of their character and values.
Required Qualifications •Proven experience developing Girls Lacrosse programs and players. •Advanced knowledge and understanding of technical and strategic aspects of the game of Girls Lacrosse. •Experience leading and coordinating a team of coaches. •Ability to communicate effectively with athletes, coaching staff, and parents. •Ability to teach, lead, motivate student-athletes. •Proven organizational and management skills. •Desire to cultivate strategic relationships with area athletic organizations. •Desire to organize and host a Girls Lacrosse clinic for Lower and Middle School St. Andrew’s students. •Desire to organize and host a Girls Lacrosse summer camp on campus. •Desire to team with our Admissions staff to communicate with prospective families. •Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred. •If candidates have game film of their teams, we encourage them to include that with their application.
