Established in 1970, SVCC is one of the 23 colleges in the Virginia Community College System. The Christanna Campus near Alberta and the John H. Daniel Campus near Keysville serve ten counties and one city - the largest community college service region in the state. In 1985, SVCC opened the Southside Virginia Education Center. The college is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award Associate degrees. The Simulation Technologist, reporting to the Simulation Lab Director, will ensure our simulation lab is fully functional for student clinical training and ensure the system is functional with the most current, up-to-date software for the simulation lab equipment.Primary duties include but are not limited to:Operating and maintaining simulation technology equipment as well as various departmental technical and healthcare resources used to conduct training for healthcare students and professionalsSupporting Southside Virginia Community College initiatives to promote healthcare careers and services in underserved communitiesServes as the healthcare simulation operator for pre-programmed patient scenariosOversees information technology systems, connectivity, functionality, and operations throughout the lab in conjunction with SVCC IT staffAssists with daily operations and upkeep of Simulation lab learning and instructional spacesPerforms and oversees processes required to secure and preserve lab assets including ensuring all equipment and operating systems are operational and ready for useDevelops and facilitates equipment/supplies training for internal and external clients/usersAssists with equipment budgeting, replacements, and upgradesCollaborates with partners and other stakeholders to accomplish identified simulation training experiences and outcomesMaintains complex databases and inventories of training assets, resources, and sessionsOther duties as assignedThank you for considering employment with Southside Virginia Community College.
