Job Summary:
The Associate Director (Director of the Maverick Club) will execute a comprehensive annual giving strategy including the Maverick Club that increases the engagement, stewardship and growth of donors to the athletic department (Maverick Club members).
Essential Duties:
Execute the Maverick Club annual giving strategy that includes solicitations, stewardship initiatives, and maintaining relationships with donors, prospects and the community. Supervise the Development Coordinator for Athletics.
In coordination with the Head Coaches and the Athletic Director, support all sport specific fundraising including direct mail campaigns, events, etc.
Oversee Maverick Club and athletic department special events including, but not limited to, Hall of Honor Banquet, First Pitch Fundraiser, Maverick Open, Athletic Alumni reunion, Maverick Club game day and community-based opportunities.
Serve as a game day liaison to include engagement focusing on cultivation and stewardship to increase philanthropic support of Maverick Club members, premium seat holders, suite holders, athletic donors and prospects.
Manage the letter winner and athletic alumni program including the distribution of letter winner awards, implementing athletic alumni engagement opportunities, and serving as point of contact for athletic alumni.
Facilitate community appearances for the Athletic Director and Head Coaches toward increasing Maverick Club awareness, engagement and support.
Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree with 2 years of experience in higher education. Applicants must have excellent organizational and communication skills.
Applicants must be a self-starter with an extremely high attention to detail, while possessing the ability to prioritize workload for timely completion of important tasks.
Must be able to maintain confidential information and work unconventional hours, weekends and holidays when events require it.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple project deadlines.
Advanced time management and customer service skills.
Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLSANDABILITIES:
Microsoft Office Platform
Customer Retention Management software
Ability to work effectively across Athletic Department business units
Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum 1 year experience in a development/fundraising, university, or non-profit environment. Athletics fundraising experience preferred.
Advanced knowledge of computer technology, including the ability to use specialized software packages for spreadsheets, graphics, word processing and database management.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and other common office systems.
Willingness to learn new software including database programs and preference given to candidates with CRM expertise.
