Job Description:
Brown University Athletics is seeking candidates for the Associate Head Coach, Menâ™s Ice Hockey position. This role assists the Head Coach, Brown Menâ™s Ice Hockey in all day-to-day operations of the Brown Menâ™s Ice Hockey Program.Â
Job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Serving as the recruiting coordinator with emphasis placed on implementation and execution of a successful recruitment strategy on a national and international level.
- Assisting in the planning and coaching of practices, skill development sessions and in-game strategy, video analysis and tactical adjustments.Â
- This position will also serve as a coordinator for position-specific players, systems, and tactics.

Qualifications
- Ability to recruit within NCAA and Ivy League Rules.
- Commitment to the student-athlete, passion for the game and ability to coach & motivate.
- Ability to work with a diverse population of student-athletes, parents, coaches, and administrators.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication & leadership skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work with and relate well to students.
- Excellent work ethic and character.
- Excellent sport specific technical, tactical, and strategic knowledge.
- Possess a willingness and ability to support a diverse and inclusive environment.
- Prior experience with ACES and Teamworks, or similar, preferred.
- Prior experience with XOS video editing software, or similar, preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to support a community of diverse perspectives and cultures in an inclusive environment.
 Education
Experience
- 2-4 years coaching experience with a collegiate program, competitive club-junior team, or high school program;
- Prior collegiate coaching experience preferred (and/or a combination of coaching & competitive playing experience)
- Competitive playing experience at the collegiate (club or varsity level) or professional level, preferred.
All division employees are required to demonstrate exemplary ethical conduct and conformance to NCAA rules and regulations; the duties of the position are to be performed in compliance with all NCAA and Ivy League rules and regulations; and any rules violations on behalf of themselves or any knowledge of violations within the division are to be reported to the appropriate parties. Employees in coaching positions are required to pass the NCAA Coaches Certification Test, maintain current AED/CPR & First Aid certification (certification is available at no cost through the Division), and attend all required divisional and/or NCAA training/education programs.
