Summary:Colleges of Fenway, Inc. (COF) is seeking an individual to join the team as the Director, Programs, Student Events, and Communications.The mission of the Colleges of the Fenway is to add value to student academic and social life while seeking innovative methods of investing in new services and containing the costs of higher education. Serving as a leader within the COF team, this position works with COF staff to provide strategic leadership and support to the collaboration among the five-member institutions, Emmanuel College, Massachusetts College of Art and Design, MCPHS University, Simmons University, and Wentworth Institute of Technology. Focusing on program development and delivery within Student Affairs and Admissions, this position is also responsible for Communications and Marketing strategy and implementation for COF, Inc.Responsibilities:Specifically, the Director of Programs, Student Events and Communications is responsible for:Program Development & Events? Working with Admissions representatives and the COF Office Manager/Special ProjectsCoordinator on planning collaborative events that support the priorities of the membersincluding annual counselor tour, hosted events, high school tours of COF, and jointmarketing initiatives in all forms of media.? Coordinating with Student Activities committee and others to develop and implement acomprehensive calendar of student events to bring students together across theinstitutions, currently including annual Block Party, After Party, Welcome socials, jointstudent leadership training, and Spirit Week.? Working with the Residential Life Committee as they collaborate on training programs,services and housing initiatives.? Representing the COF at events and meetings, including as alternate for ExecutiveDirector on occasion.Marketing & Communications? Developing and producing internal and external marketing materials that identify andsupport the Colleges of the Fenway and its programs, including e-newsletters, pressreleases, social media assets, brochures, the annual report and supplemental assets andthe website.? Oversee and manage social media presence: Identifying key accounts to engage with,refining strategy, fielding questions and requests via direct messaging.? Working closely with the COF Office Manager/Special Projects Coordinator and studentstaff in managing COF website, regular newsletters and events calendar.? Preparing presentations, documents, and sharing staffing responsibilities for OpenHouses, Accepted Students Day(s), and Opening Weeks at the five institutions.Meeting Facilitation/Committee Oversight ? Facilitating key committees/ communities of practice and their programs including: Residential Life, Student Activities, Admissions, Veteran?s Affairs, Marketing andCommunications. The director ensures that these groups engage in projects that support the overall goals of COF and have mutual value to the participants and the member colleges. The Director works in support of strategic priorities, committee goalsand additional COF priorities. ? Assisting the Executive Director in facilitating senior leadership committees including: Coordinating Council, Senior Student Affairs Officers, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, and Enrollment Management, providing leadership to and managing specific initiatives in related areas. ? Preparing reports, minutes and other written and verbal communications to the appropriate Colleges of the Fenway groups including the Board.? Maintaining data for all Committees and projects, updating core data on a regular basis.? Manage budgets for assigned events and committees. Supervision? Supervising the Director of Sport and Recreation and assigned student staff. Special Projects & Collaboration? Working with appropriate staff at member institutions to coordinate joint sponsorships.? Working with all COF staff to raise awareness about COF programs and events amongst the members. ? Working collaboratively with other COF staff to facilitate joint contracts and services within the functional areas represented by the committees identified above. ? Managing outside consultants engaged for specific projects, as needed.? Performing other duties/projects as assigned.BASIC KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS ? Demonstrated ability to build consensus and work with diverse campus constituencies.? Strong meeting facilitation, project management, event planning, organizational, negotiation and interpersonal skills? Ability to foster trust and build interpersonal relationships, be energetic and have a high tolerance for ambiguity and nuance. ? Experience in effective use of social and traditional media to build awareness of brand and initiatives.? Excellent attention to detail.? Sense of humor. ? Excellent diplomatic, analytical, written, and oral communication skills.? Ability to take initiative, work independently and with groups, and manage several projects simultaneously. ? Willingness to work unusual hours (occasional nights and weekends) as required. ? Familiarity with Sharepoint, Asana, Constant Contact, and WordPress preferred.EXPERIENCE/EDUCATIONMaster?s degree in education, business management, planning or a related field, preferred. The candidate should have 5 - 10 years? experience working with or in higher education academic, student affairs or communications administration or related experience. The Director must be familiar with the administration of academic institutions and have strong project management, event planning and communications experience. COF is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
