The Theatre Department at Saginaw Valley State University seeks applicants for a full-time one-year, temporary appointment as an assistant professor to begin Fall semester 2019.
The Theatre Department seeks a colleague dedicated to mentoring students in a liberal arts setting. Teaching responsibilities include advanced courses in Musical Theatre Performance and History of Musical Theatre along with departmental service courses such as Introduction to Theatre, and Theatre in Performance. Successful candidates will possess a thorough knowledge of musical theatre repertoire and current vocal trends. Responsibilities also include student recruitment, community outreach, and contributing in at least one other area to the department's production program.
Minimum Qualifications: MINIMUM QUALIFICAITONS:
MFA or Ph.D. in Theatre
Evidence of competence in musical theatre (music direction, voice instruction).
Experience in professional and/or university theatre
University teaching experience or the ability to demonstrate potential teaching effectiveness
Expertise in one or more area of production, such as theatre design and construction, stage direction, etc.
