About the Position: The Office of Admissions is responsible for determining student eligibility for admission to the University, processes and evaluates applications and transcripts, determining residency status, and reviewing appeals for exception to University Policy. We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our team as an Administrative Analyst/Specialist-Exempt I, Admissions. The Administrative Analyst/Specialist-Exempt I, Admissions assists the PeopleSoft/CMS Module Lead with the development of new modules, writing specifications, running jobs and queries, and testing. Posts applications received from Online Admission Application and the Early Start Program. Processes and troubleshoots problem applications submitted over the web. Supports the processing of special program applications, which includes those received via the web and paper based, such as veterans, exchange students, athletes, new employees, graduate change of objectives, and high school students. Runs weekly reports and queries for admission processing for the Office of Admissions. Responsible for enrollment deposit queries, fee reconciliation reports and runs daily enrollment deposit rejects. Assists with managing and redirecting CSU eligible but denied SB1440 students to other campuses. Reviews, researches, and resolves complex admission data problems. Serves as a resource person for data entry, acronym creation, and number changes. Has an understanding of the admission portion of PeopleSoft. Supports faculty and administrative staff with admission inquiries and student issues. Works with students, counselors and staff regarding admissions questions, updates and issues. Utilizes PeopleSoft to refine business procedures, such as creating and modifying Admissions and Campus Community Business Process Guides. Supports the Duplicate ID lead in Admissions, including assisting in resolving duplicate IDs identified in the system and cleaning up Admission data. Assists with ERS data cleanup for admission data. Formatting HTML admission communication. In coordination with the Director of Admissions, sends out admission communications. Responsible for adding and removing Admissions holds. Maintains and updates the Admissions website, runs and creates queries and runs mass admission data updates in the system. Other duties as assigned.
Essential Qualifications: Bachelors degree from an accredited four-year college or university and/or the equivalent training and administrative work experience involving the study, analysis, evaluation, development or improvement of administrative policies, procedures, practices or programs plus two years of related experience.
Working knowledge of and the ability to apply standard theories, principles, practices, and techniques applicable to the program or administrative specialty to develop conclusions and make recommendations. Thorough knowledge of policies, procedures, and outside regulations pertaining to the applicable program or administrative specialty. Working knowledge of operational and fiscal analysis and techniques. Ability to take initiative and plan, organize, coordinate, and perform work in various situations where numerous and diverse demands are involved. Skilled in research, development, and evaluation of policies and programs. Ability to collect, evaluate, and interpret data to develop sound conclusions and make appropriate recommendations. Expertise investigating and analyzing problems with broad administrative impact and implications. Ability to anticipate problems and address them proactively. Demonstrated ability to effectively interpret, organize, and present information and ideas in written or presentation form. Ability to train others on new skills and procedures and provide lead work direction.
