Job Summary: JOB SUMMARY: To assist the Director of Athletic Media Relations in all aspects of the day-to-day operations of the Saginaw Valley State University Office of Athletic Media Relations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Primary contact for Volleyball, Men's & Women's Soccer, Indoor & Outdoor Track & Field, Men's & Women's Swimming & Diving and either Baseball or Softball. Will have duties assisting with all other athletic programs as well.
Compiling and maintaining statistical information for SVSU Athletics.
Producing quality, error-free game recaps in a timely manner following athletic contests.
Assist with the supervision and training of student employees.
Assist with game day operations for all of SVSU's athletic contests.
Design and layout of game day programs.
Coordinate weekly and post-game coach/player interviews.
Initiate and respond to media requests for coaches/players.
Coordinate weekly GLIAC reports and "Player of the Week" nominations.
Report statistics to local media outlets and the NCAA.
Update and maintain the SVSU athletics website, www.svsucardinals.com.
Assist with the multimedia/social media initiatives of the department.
Minimum Qualifications: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Must possess strong oral and written communication skills, including AP style.
Strong knowledge of the sports sponsored by SVSU.
Ability to serve in a leadership position to student-athletes and student/game day employees.
Ability to multitask and meet multiple deadlines in a timely manner.
Ability to work both supervised and unsupervised to complete projects.
Extensive experience with social media platforms (twitter, facebook, instagram, etc.).
Experience and ability to positively interact with diverse student populations and groups.
Ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.
Experience with the PrestoSports website platform.
Proficiency with StatCrew software Suite.
Experience with Adobe Creative Software Suite, including: InDesign, Photoshop and Premiere.
