Fitness Instructor Group Exercise - Athletics-2012775
Carnegie Mellon University's Athletics department is searching for a Group X-ercise Fitness Instructor. This is an exciting opportunity if you thrive in an interesting and challenging work environment. You will contribute to the department by leading patrons in a group environment through a class format of exercises designed to enhance overall fitness, strength and endurance, while ensuring the safety for all participants. You will also demonstrate techniques and methods of participation serving as a resource to educate participants on various aspects of fitness.
Core responsibilities will include:
Maintaining class roster and track participation levels;
Maintaining order and cleanliness of exercise space before, during and after class;
Instructing participants in maintaining appropriate exercise techniques while evaluating ability of participants.

You should demonstrate:
Ability to prioritize work and handle multiple tasks simultaneously;
Ability to understand and follow directions;
Ability to walk and stand, bend and lift;
You should be able to travel around campus.
This is a part-time, hourly position.
High school diploma required, College Degree preferred;
First Aid and CPR/AED certification (American Red Cross) required;
Six or more months teaching in a group or one-on-one training in the field of fitness instruction required, 1-3 years preferred;
Accredited nationally recognized certification in field of instruction preferred.
