Job Summary: JOB SUMMARY: The Scott L. Carmona College of Business (CBM) at Saginaw Valley State University, an AACSB accredited institution, invites applications for a one-year, temporary, full-time Visiting Assistant Professor of Economics to start Fall 2019. We welcome applications from candidates with expertise in any field of economics, and the ability to teach a variety of economics courses at the bachelor's level including Introductory Economics, Principles of Macroeconomics, Principles of Microeconomics, Introductory Statistics, and Applied Statistics. We are committed to excellence in both teaching and research. The CBM provides a rich and nurturing learning environment for its students. The successful candidate must meet the College's criteria for classification as a scholarly academic (SA). Minimum Qualifications: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A Ph.D. in Economics from an AACSB-accredited Institution, or ABD status in an Economics program with a documented plan for completion is required.
Evidence of teaching effectiveness or the potential to be effective in the teaching role is required.
Meeting the College's criteria for classification as a scholarly academic (SA) faculty member is required.
Experience and ability to positively interact with diverse student populations and groups.
Ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.
Preferred Qualifications: PREFERRED QUALIFICAITONS: A Ph.D. degree in Economics from an AACSB-accredited Institution.
Evidence of teaching effectiveness in a wide range of Economics courses.
Ability to code in languages such as R and Python.
