The camp counselor will supervise, assist and be actively engaged with a group of children ages 6-14 during education and recreational activities. Some of the assigned activities include but are not limited to, arts and crafts, kick ball, dodge ball, capture the flag and open swim. The counselors will oversee the safe arrival and departure of campers. The counselors will be responsible for taking attendance every morning of camp, throughout the day, as well as at the end of the day. They are to escort each camper to and from scheduled activities. The counselors will assist program staff in conducting various events; ensuring campers eat lunch, maintain proper hydration, and apply insect repellent and sun screen. The counselors will be responsible for communicating to the direct supervisor if any issues should occur.
The EMT's responsibilities will be to assist any child/children who should become ill or acquire an injury during the camp. They will also be responsible for reporting any injuries sustained during camp. The EMT will also be responsible for keeping a record of all campers medical history on file.
Applicants must be a high school or college student or possess a GED or high school diploma. Experience working with school age children is a plus. Applicants with prior recreational/camp experience will be given preference.
EMT must be certified and hold up to date certificates in CPR, first Aid, AED.
