STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
The Head Coach - Women's Soccer will be responsible for administration of all phases of an NJCAA Division III women's soccer program including recruiting quality student-athletes, organizing and training athletes for successful competition, monitoring and supporting the academic success of the student-athletes, and planning and conducting pre- and post-season conditioning programs. This is a professional head coaching position; therefore, all of the duties of the position must be conducted in adherence with the policies, rules, and regulations of the NJCAA, Region XXI, and Bristol Community College. As Athletics Recruiter, this position will also assist in the College's enrollment efforts by serving as a recruitment liaison for Athletics and Recreation and Admissions.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Reports to the Director of Athletics and Recreation.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
HEAD COACH DUTIES
Meet designated roster goals, established in collaboration with the Director of Athletics and Recreation.
Identify and guide prospective students through the enrollment process; report information on prospective women's soccer student-athlete interest.
Establish a comprehensive list of prospective women's soccer student-athletes through the development of relationships with high school soccer coaches.
Contact prospective student-athletes about attending Bristol Community College.
Attend Bristol Community College family nights and other on-campus recruiting events.
Collaborate with the department's Student-Athlete Advisor to ensure women's soccer student-athletes are meeting regularly with their advisor and utilizing academic initiatives.
Direct, motivate, and advise student-athletes to prepare for the classroom.
Promote academic success through a commitment to class attendance, academic achievement, and graduation.
Communicate high academic standards within the women's soccer program.
Organize, prepare and conduct team practice sessions to train and prepare for competition.
Direct, motivate, and advise student-athletes to prepare for competition.
Establish individual and student-athlete goals.
Establish and enforce team policies.
Effectively communicate proper techniques, fundamentals, and team strategies.
Represent the College in a positive manner by demonstrating good sportsmanship and collegiality.
Study the field and remain up-to-date on the latest trends of soccer instruction.
Use lessons in sport as a platform for overall student-development.
Develop relationships with four-year coaches and implement a plan to assist women's soccer student-athletes in transferring.
Demonstrate an understanding and adhere to NJCAA eligibility and compliance.
Report facility issues to the Director of Athletics and Recreation in a timely manner.
Submit uniform and equipment requests to the Director of Athletics and Recreation.
Coordinate fundraising initiatives for the women's soccer program.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
ATHLETICS RECRUITER DUTIES
Coordinate the recruitment efforts of the Athletics & Recreation coaching staff.
Actively participate in the development and implementation of enrollment strategies directed at student-athlete enrollment.
Provide accurate information about degree programs and admission procedures.
Coordinate on-site high school visits with guidance counselors, athletics directors, coaches, etc.
Serve as a representative at high school college fairs.
Coordinate on-campus visits for student-athletes, along with scheduling any specific meetings necessary.
Monitor applicant progress on prospective student-athletes, including review of high school transcripts and other academic information, in order to advise coaches, students, and families.
Assist with the coordination of family nights and schedules coaches' attendance for all family night events and prospect visits.
Work closely with the Director of Admissions and Director of Athletics & Recreation to recommend and attain enrollment goals for each sport.
Serve as a liaison between coaches and Admissions.
Assist coaches in managing their individual recruiting database.
Complete the cycle of working with student-athletes from their first interest in Bristol, to assignment to coach, to assignment to student-athlete academic advisor.
Perform administrative tasks associated with department activities.
Other related duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics and Recreation and Dean of Enrollment
Associate's degree required.
Experience coaching and playing intercollegiate or high school soccer.
Demonstrated knowledge of recruitment, student-athlete development, and soccer.
Strong interpersonal, organizational, written, and oral communication skills.
Valid driver's license.
Ability to work nights and weekends

Bachelor's degree preferred.
Experience recruiting student-athletes in a community college setting.
A minimum of three years of experience coaching at the intercollegiate level.
Demonstrated strong ability to build relationships within our recruitment area.
Ability to speak a language in addition to English
POSITION STATUS: This is a part-time, non-unit, non-benefitted, 18.5 hours per week position, some nights and weekends required.
SALARY: $18,000 annually.
