Performs transactional support associated with the accounts payable for Campus Recreational Sports Bloomington. These tasks include but are not limited to the processing of requisitions, purchase orders, payment requests, hospitality codes, vendor set-ups, ordering of supplies, processing of invoices and payments, internal billings, disbursement vouchers, travel, and many others. The incumbent continually tracks budgetary information in order to coordinate, verify, and approve many operational transactions which includes updating asset management data base to assist with equipment replacement planning. The position incumbent serves as a primary support staff assistant in the implementation of the donor-funded scholarship application, selection and award process.
REQUIRED: High school degree or GED and two years accounting experience with purchasing and accounts payable.
Knowledge of accounting/bookkeeping procedures. Excellent computer skills with experience with Excel and databases. Good organization and communication skills. Ability to analyze financial records. Ability to work independently with critical thinking about improvement of systems and processes. Ability to work well under pressure and meet stringent deadlines. Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Three years of experience. Proficient with KFS system, word processing software such as Word and Outlook. Knowledge of University accounting policies and procedures. Experience with IU Foundation and IU computer systems. Experience in a university setting.
