Reporting to the Assistant Director of Operations. Perform a variety of duties and work assignments in building operations to promote a clean, safe, sanitary and orderly environment in the Alumni Memorial Union complex which includes the AMU, the Weasler Auditorium, the Union Sports Annex and the Varsity Theater.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1.Act as an agent for the Union, Administrative and Financial Services, and the University during functions on Campus or in the AMU Complex 2.Perform set-ups for events in the Alumni Memorial Union complex 3.Assist clients with facilities usage in planning events 4.Assist building clients by helping them set-up rooms and make last minute changes in room set-ups 5.Assist in providing daily security for the facilities 6.Coordinate Union services to meet clients' needs and to facilitate smooth building operations 7.Responsible for administering and enforcing University policies and procedures 8.Must have working knowledge of all audio-visual equipment in the AMU complex 9.Assist in updating inventory count on supplies, equipment and furnishings 10.Perform cleaning for conference room change overs. Assist in cleaning of building. Perform such tasks as furniture moving, trash removal, cleaning tables, changing lights, window washing and snow removal 11.Assist in training of staff and students in established building policies regarding clients, operations of equipment and building services 12.Assist in updating and/or developing pertinent employee manual relative to training, discipline, and policy for personnel supervised 13.Provide written reports on daily work assigned and on assigned projects 14.Assist Union Station with related tasks such as general drop safe procedures and card readers 15.Monitor contracted work 16.Act as on-site working supervisor 17.Maintain clean and sanitary environment 18.Perform other duties and responsibilities as required, assigned, or requested
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
High School diploma or equivalent
One (1) year related work experience, preferably in a student union or hotel/motel environment
Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
Use of the internet to complete reports and submit service order.
Basic knowledge of how to connect a CPU and projector for a presentation.
Ability to walk stairs and stand for 30 minutes or longer, lift up to 80 pounds, work in existing weather conditions
