St. Louis College of Pharmacy is currently seeking a track and field head coach. The coach manages all aspects of their respective sport’s team including practice, meet management, team rules and responsibility for team while traveling. Strong preference for coaching experience in the areas of sprinting and field events. This is a part-time, twelve-month position.
The college participates in National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) sports as a member of the American Midwest Conference. Teams include men’s and women’s basketball, soccer, cross country, track and field, and tennis as well as women’s volleyball and softball.
You’ll have the opportunity to:
Coach STLCOP’s track and field teams managing team practices, competitions, equipment, and administration of team related reports and nominations.
Expertise in coaching throwing, jumping and sprinting events will be emphasized.
Head coach will be responsible for athlete recruitment of high school seniors, transfers as well as current students. Recruiting focus will be throwing, jumping and sprinting events. Manage and award allotted athletic scholarships with appropriate documentation and paperwork.
Enforce student athlete athletic standards as well as academic standards for the College.
Assist team in balancing rigorous academics with athletics.
Bachelor’s degree preferably in an Education or Athletics field, at least 2-3 year of coaching experience, preferably at a college level.
Knowledge of competitive track and field and ability to help student-athletes develop their track and field skills.
Professional and service-oriented approach; strong written and interpersonal skills to communicate with students, faculty/staff and other constituents is essential.
Must possess a strong desire to support students juggling rigorous academic requirements with participation in athletics.
Must be able to physically demonstrate and coach track and field and frequently lift up to 25 pounds. Candidate must possess reliable transportation.
Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as the schedule dictates is a requirement for this position. This position also requires some travel and is part-time salaried.
