The Central Washington University Game On! Site Program Coordinator will develop and implement Game On! activities as aligned with Real Madrid Foundation's social sport school methodology and Microsoft's YouthSpark curriculum for students in the program. Game On! has created a unique learning opportunity for Central Washington middle-and-high school students, educating them about core values as well as leadership, social and digital literacy, and college-ready skills. It combines computer training with soccer to foster education through sport as a tool to learn core values.
This position will visit program partners on a weekly basis, maintain clear and timely written and electronic communication, complete quarterly reports, assist with planning and executing yearly program events, and provide support in expanding and evaluating the program.
This individual will be vital in supporting key program components, including youth leadership skills development, STEM awareness and exposure, academic success and re-engagement, and creating higher-education pathways for students in the program.
This position is currently funded through 6/30/2019. Continuation of this position past 6/30/2019 is contingent upon renewed funding being obtained.
This position is located in Yakima, WA.
Program Oversight: - Assist with coordination and participate in yearly training opportunities offered by Real Madrid Foundation and Microsoft Corporation related to CWU Game On! curriculum - Develop, implement, and coordinate the facilitation and delivery of CWU Game On! curriculum to participating schools/members, which includes elementary, middle, and high school students and ensure alignment with Real Madrid Foundation's social sport school methodology and Microsoft's YouthSpark curriculum for students in the program - Provide clear and timely communication to regional Game On! partners, as well as to CWU Game On! Executive Director - Visit the program partners on a weekly basis - Manage proper tracking of student participant documentation and information - Visit schools in the region weekly to assist with facilitation of Game On! activities - Complete quarterly reports as required by the program and our partners
Program Expansion: - Assist with the expansion and evaluation of the Game On! Program - Provide trainings for new program partners and students - Plan and oversee CWU Game On! student trips and events, such as fall kick-off, CWU campus visits, etc.
Lead Duties - Assigns and checks work and provides training. May provide feedback to supervisor to assist with work assignments and job performance. - Other duties as assigned
Bachelor's degree in Education, Social Science, Social Work, Science, Family Studies, or closely related field.
Bilingual skills (English/Spanish)
Experience and/or knowledge of the sport of soccer
Interest and experience in computer science with a focus on coding
High energy, self-starter, and have strong communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, while displaying flexibility and attention to detail
Experience with culturally and economically diverse populations
OR applicable combination of education and/or experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position
Experience with coaching soccer and working with youth
Experience giving oral presentations to small and large groups

Working Conditions: Work is performed indoors in an office setting, as well as outdoors. Indoor time is used to develop key CWU Game On! activities, follow up on written and electronic communication, complete necessary quarterly reports, and plan for upcoming events. CWU Game On! activities are implemented in an outdoor setting, often at the location of the CWU Game On! partner. Most activities are delivered after school, between 1 PM and 5 PM, and transportation to the various locations will be necessary on a weekly basis.
