Job Summary: The Graduate Assistant for Student Life includes large-scale programming, support of SVSU student leaders and RSO officers, facilitation of training programs for student leaders and student staff, marketing and promotion of Student Life sponsored events/programs, and other ancillary responsibilities. The goal of the position is to provide para-professional experience in the areas of student activities and student development.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSILBILITIES
1.Manage, advise, promote, evaluate and operate programs/activities related to Fraternity and Sorority Life.
2.Serve as a consultant to Fraternity and Sorority Life chapters, officers and advisors as it pertains to programming, event registration, planning, and follow-through
3. Assist in the creation and implementation of a marketing plan for Student Life sponsored activities
4. Assist with scheduling of events
5.Maintain routine and consistent office hours
6.Assist, as needed, with facilitation of Leadership Programs
7.Assist, as needed, with facilitation of Service/Volunteer Programs
8.Assist, as needed, with programs and initiatives that fall under the Office of Student Life's "Connect" pillar
9.Competency with Microsoft Office, SVSUEngage, Datatel, and other software programs.
10.Knowledge of University operations and departments (serve as a referral to students/faculty/staff)
Minimum Qualifications: Candidate must be enrolled in a Graduate level program at SVSU, minimum of half time (or in the process of enrollment).
Candidate must have experience in campus programming.
Candidate must have an appreciation of diverse staff, members and participants; ability to provide a positive environment free of discrimination.
Candidate must have a high level of accountability and problem solving skills.
Must be able to preform the essential duties and responsibilities with or without accommodations.
