Tufts University is a Division III member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC). The Tufts University Department of Athletics sponsors 30 varsity sports, 20 club sports and a number of intramural sports and activities. The Department of Athletics oversees the University's Physical Education offerings and the Personalized Performance Program for students, staff and faculty. The Department manages all Athletics facilities, including the Steve Tisch Sports and Fitness Center, which opened in 2012. The Athletics Administrative Coordinator provides advanced administrative support for the Department of Athletics, primarily for the Athletics Business Office, but also in support of the senior administrative team. The Athletics Administrative Coordinator will:
Serve in a highly visible role as a trusted resource for the Department with students, coaches, faculty and staff.
Manage a variety of complex situations and confidential Department matters, including the processing of information pertinent to the hiring, onboarding and termination of Department employees, the submission of critical financial data and payroll documentation, and the generation of reports related to human resources, procurement and department finances.
Create, submit and actively monitor Department orders with external suppliers and vendors.
Interact and liaise with a variety of university units and departments throughout the Tufts campus.
Coordinate, plan and schedule Department meetings, functions, special events and projects.
Complete other related office and administrative duties as assigned.
Minimum of three years' administrative experience with Bachelor's degree OR a minimum of five years' administrative experience with High School Diploma.
Advanced knowledge of technology platforms (Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
Strong interpersonal, organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to communicate effectively and foster positive relationships with students, fellow staff members and the campus community.
Prior administrative work experience in a University financial setting and/or within collegiate athletics.
A team player who is detail-oriented, innovative and adept at managing multiple tasks.
Bachelor's degree preferred.
