Summary: In fall 2018, the University plans to inaugurate a new Inclusivity Resource Center. Based on the belief that education is the foundation of a more inclusive campus climate, the purpose of this Center is to provide students with resources to assist them in engaging in authentic and informed dialogue with their peers. This Center will offer monthly equity and inclusivity themed workshops to the University community. It will also feature a room that can be reserved by student groups that address the needs of historically marginalized groups and have missions that are consistent with that of the University. This position is responsible for providing direct administrative support and reception for the Inclusivity Resource Center.
General duties also include provide secretarial and clerical support. Greeting and assisting students; answer the telephones and taking messages; schedule meeting space and make appointments. Services and works closely with students seeking assistance at the center.
Perform all secretarial functions, answer phones, take messages, schedule appointments, maintain files, type correspondence, order supplies, prepare for meetings and coordinate necessary logistics for larger events and or meetings.
Prepare and modify documents including correspondence, reports, drafts, memos and emails
Manage answering calls in a professional, organized and confidential manner. Greet visitors in an appropriate and courteous manner that projects a positive image of the center. Work closely with student clientele to schedule and facilitate their needs at the center.
Assist with the programming for the center.
Demonstrate commitment to Inclusivity.
Effectively communicate across difference.
Establish and maintain a positive working rapport with staff working with and across units in support of the center. Work as a team member and demonstrate a positive, proactive approach to daily operations.
Exhibit good organizational and time management skills to maintain the needs of the center.
Ensure invoices are recorded and tracked.
Assist on special projects as required.
High School Diploma required.
1-3 years in an administrative environment required.
Excellent communication and customer service skills; ability to multitask in a busy environment.
Knowledge of principles and practices of basic office management.
Good knowledge of Microsoft Office.
