St. Louis College of Pharmacy is currently seeking an assistant coach for its softball team. One coach will primarily be assigned to pitching. The assistant coaches assists the head coach with the management of practice and development of the team during pre, regular and post season play. Additional duties will be assigned by the head coach relative to daily operations of the team as well as overall team goals. This is a part-time, salaried, seasonal position and includes an incentive program.
The college participates in National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Division I sports as a member of the American Midwest Conference. Teams include men’s and women’s basketball, soccer, track and field, and tennis as well as women’s volleyball and softball.
Qualifications and how to apply
To succeed in this role you will need:
Bachelors degree: preferred
Experience: 2-3 years coaching at the high school and/or collegiate level preferred.
Professional, business, leadership acumen: familiar with NAIA rules and regulations; professional development.
Interpersonal relations skills: excellent communication with players and recruits; understanding of the challenging academic climate at STLCOP; flexibility in scheduling practices to accommodate students’ academic responsibilities; assessment of student athlete performance and conduct.
Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as the schedule dictates.
Knowledge of NAIA rules and regulations is preferred.
Commitment to the College Mission, Vision and Values including a commitment to inclusion and diversity.
Physical ability to demonstrate necessary skills, teach drills and demonstrate plays for the sport.
Transport or move necessary equipment for use at practices and games.
