NYU School of Professional Studies has an exciting Administrative Aide position available in the Office of the Dean. This Administrative Aide position is a great opportunity to begin a career in higher education administration while having the opportunity to earn an NYU graduate degree for 100% tuition remission. S/he will provide front line customer service for internal and external constituencies and serve as a primary source of information to students, faculty and the public on programs, activities and policies. This position is ideal for exposure to multiple areas of higher education. The selected candidate will support the Chief of Staff in the Office of the Dean with important projects including, special programs and global initiatives.
S/he will also be responsible for scheduling, travel and event coordination, drafting correspondence, responding to inquiries, processing reimbursements, data entry, project completion, and general office management.
S/he must have superb organizational, interpersonal and communication skills. S/he must also have excellent writing, proofreading and editing skills and strong attention-to-detail. Proficiency with Microsoft office applications is also required. Previous administrative experience is preferred, but not required.
Required Education: High School diploma or equivalent
Preferred Education: Some college level work
Required Experience: 3 years of office experience. Experience providing a high level of customer service.
Preferred Experience: Support of an executive in a corporate setting
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Excellent organizational, communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills. Ability to take initiative and manage a variety of tasks and projects simultaneously. Ability act in a professional and confidential manner with all levels of employees and outside groups and effectively respond to simultaneous requests and projects. Proficiency with advanced functions for MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Access, Powerpoint).
