Job Summary: JOB SUMMARY: Provide programming and analysis support for software solutions, such as Ellucian Colleague, as part of the Enterprise Applications team.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Recommend efficient solutions that meet user needs by analyzing system functionality, capabilities of vendor delivered solutions and possible custom solutions.
Design, develop, modify and test computer programs in accordance with analyzed needs.
Use database query languages to develop solutions to user needs as well as ad hoc reports.
Provide program specifications and documentation.
Write programs in accordance with programming standards and specifications.
Provide user documentation and train users by demonstrating technical functionality.
Develop a working knowledge of and provide support for assigned software modules and applications.
Provide programming/analysis time estimates for projects when requested.
Perform research and schedule personal training or attendance at seminars to keep abreast of enterprise applications developments.
RELATED DUTIES: Assist with user support for report writer applications.
Assist with conversions of data and programs as necessary.
Assist with testing of software releases.
Assist with the training of new staff and student employees by providing information about programming, standards, methods and procedures.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in computer related field or equivalent combination of experience and education.
Working knowledge of various computer programming languages and databases.
Good oral, written and interpersonal skills.
Ability to train groups/individuals and to demonstrate technical functionality to groups/individuals.
Ability to organize and prioritize work.
Good project planning skills.
Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
Ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.
Preferred Qualifications: PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in computer related field.
Three years programming work experience.
Experience with BASIC programming language, CASE programming tools such as Ellucian's Colleague Studio, query language database tools, Ellucian's Colleague software package, Unidata environment and Entrinsik Informer & Business Objects report writers.
