Job Summary: JOB SUMMARY:
The College of Business and Management at Saginaw Valley State University, an AACSB accredited institution, invites applications for a one-year, temporary, full-time Visiting Assistant Professor of Economics to start Fall 2018. We welcome applications from candidates with expertise in any field of economics, and the ability to teach a variety of economics courses at the bachelor's level including Introductory Economics, Principles of Macroeconomics, Principles of Microeconomics, Introductory Statistics, and Applied Statistics. The College of Business and Management provides a rich and nurturing learning environment for its students. The successful candidate must meet the College's criteria for classification as a scholarly academic (SA). All full-time faculty members are required to teach 12 credit hours per semester and engage in scholarship and University service.
Minimum Qualifications: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A Ph.D. in Economics from an AACSB-accredited Institution, or ABD status in an Economics programs with a documented plan for completion is required.
Evidence of teaching effectiveness or the potential to be effective in the teaching role is required.
Meeting the College's criteria for classification as a scholarly academic (SA) faculty member is required.
A Ph.D. degree in Economics from an AACSB-accredited Institution.
Evidence of teaching effectiveness in a wide range of Economics courses.
