Posting Summary: The Summer Enrichment Program at the Curry School of Education is seeking applicants for Counselors to staff its residential summer program for gifted and/or high ability students from June 10, to July 28, 2018. Counselors are responsible for 8 campers, providing supervision during meals and on the evening and weekends, including overnight. They are responsible for activities such as large group games, sports, mental-challenge, all-camp BBQ, field day, and swimming at a UVa pool. In addition, Counselors teach a mini-seminar and are responsible for developing that curriculum and teaching it once during each session.
Applicants must have completed at least one year of college by the summer 2018 camp session. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to make sound decisions showing excellent judgment are essential. Applicants must be able to relate to children and young adults in grades four through college. Experience supervising children in camp, recreational, or school setting is preferred.
