Job Summary: JOB SUMMARY: The College of Business and Management at Saginaw Valley State University invites applicants to fill a full-time, tenure track position as assistant professor of accounting, to being July 1, 2018. The College of Business and Management is accredited by AACSB-International, and provides a rich and nurturing learning environment for its students.
Candidates to be considered must have the ability to teach a variety of accounting courses at the Bachelor's and Master's levels, with a particular need for courses in intermediate and international accounting to support department and College programs. The successful candidate will be expected to engage in scholarly activities commensurate to the College's criteria for classification as a scholarly academic (SA).
All full-time faculty members are required to teach 12 credit hours per semester and engage in scholarship and University service. Please note that for the accounting program, the majority of classes are 4 credits. As such the teaching load will be 3/3, most likely with two preps per semester, with one of the two likely being introductory accounting.
Opportunities to teach Spring/Summer courses in addition to the basic 9-month contract may be available.

Minimum Qualifications: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A doctorate from an AACSB-accredited business program in Accounting is required. ABDs in Accounting with a documented plan for completion by the appointment date will be considered. Evidence of teaching effectiveness or the potential to be effective in the teaching role is required. An established scholarly research record or the demonstrated potential for scholarship is required.
Preference will be given to candidates with the teaching experience or teaching potential in a wide range of Accounting courses.
